Interview Question Answer




  1.  What makes you feel that you are a suitable candidate (or why should we hire you)?

ANS:-  You have to tell the panel about your strengths which he can connect with the job profile/responsibility.
For example, if it is a marketing profile, you need to say, I am good at networking with people and like interacting with them. I have reasonably good communication skills and very comfortable with putting my ideas across.
If it is a finance profile, you can always say “I am good at mathematics and numbers. My reasoning abilities are good too. I am comfortable with financial planning and accounting principles”.  More over, you can say, “I have relevant experience in one finance organization for around 6months-1 year”. (if you have that experience).
If you are from HR, you can always say, “I have inclination towards understanding human capital, their motivation, tapping their potential for a mutually rewarding relationship.” On the top of it, I am good at communications skills and can gel well with people around to know them better. I want to understand human as a resource and work towards working for their training and development for overall growth of the organization (or organizational productivity and efficiency)
2. If you are made the team leader, how will you go about this new role ? (this question can be asked in various other ways also like this: what are the things you will take care of after taking up this new assignment or what strategy will you adopt as a team leader for smooth functioning? )
After assuming the responsibility of team leader, I will ensure following things:
1.             Firstly, all my team members are clear about their roles and responsibilities, common organizational goals and functional objectives.
2.            Secondly, I will ensure that they are delegated responsibilities as per their strengths.
3.            Thirdly, I will ensure that they remain motivated to achieve their targets and goals.
4.            Last but not the least, I will ensure their efforts are acknowledged and recognized for their    
                contribution.
3.   How will you deal with non-performers in your team, being a team leader?
Have a very positive outlook while replying to this question. Do not ever say that you will throw that person out of the team or I will get rid of the poison etc.etc. (as some people tend to use this kind of language while replying to these questions).
Since you are a team leader..so maintain the dignity …of your position and use very decent language of a true leader
U must say… “I will ensure that he is given the right task/job according to his/her strengths and temperaments to enhance his/her self esteem. I will ensure right training and counseling for him/her. If the charges are serious against him, I will request HR to refer to take appropriate measures including termination or extending the training period but it will be the last resort.
4.                              Where do you see yourself after 5 years and ten years respectively in your career?
You are asked a simple question…!!
your answer must be…”After 5 years, I see myself in middle management cadre where I m given more responsibilities and ownership related to my domain and I have reasonable say in designing strategies for the growth of the organization, ensuring motivation of my team members.
After 10 years, I see myself as the head of the domain with empowerment of decision making in critical matters in the interest of the organization. I will like to be given more responsibilities of handling key accounts and power of delegating resources.
4.     What is your salary expectation?
Primarily, my focus is onto learning and contributing for the benefit of the organization…so I will like to be offered a reasonable salary as per the norms for the entry level executives….atleast the salary should be so that I can sustain myself in this competitive world…u can quote the bracket like 20-23 or 18-20 k range….or 15-18 k …to begin with (depending upon your
